Central heating on for Minsk flats from next week
Hot radiators this year will cost an average of 90 thousand rubles per apartment.
Minsk flats to be heated beginning from next week. This is what Vyachaslau Shmit, head of the Energy and scientific and technological development of the Housing Ministry, said at a press conference.
He recalled that under the law, to turn on the heating, it is necessary for the outside temperature to be not higher than +8 degrees for 5 consecutive days. Earlier the capital was one day short of having the radiators turned on.
At the same time, when asked by the Euroradio why they wouldn't turns the radiators on and off when it's suddenly gets colder or warmer outside, the head of the Housing Ministry Andrei Ramashka said that this is a very expensive process.
"It is better to hold on and be patient than run the heating system. Because starting the process, and we turn the heating on gradually, is very expensive."
The official noted that the heating costs of two-bedroom apartments this year will be on average 90 thousand rubles a month.
