"Mass disturbances" organizers are becoming less in numbers

Accusations against Dzmirty Bandarenka, Iryna Khalip, Siarhej Martsaleu and Paval Sieviarynets have been re-qualified.

They are now accused under Part 1, Article 342 of the Criminal Code (organization and preparation of actions which severely violate public order or active participation thereof). This article prescribes punishment in the form of 3 years of imprisonment or a fine.

"The investigation has revealed that their actions were aimed at urging Belarusian citizens to consciously participate in illegal mass events, which are supposed to be stopped by the law-enforcement authorities. Apart from this, groundless statements about illegality of the presidential election in public became an artificially created reason for the reaction of the European Union and the USA, which imposed sanctions as measures of economical and political pressure on the official Belarusian authorities", — says the Ministry of Internal Affairs' statement.

Accusations against the ex-presidential candidate Uladzimir Nyaklyaeu and his representatives - Aliaksandr Fiaduta, Siarhej Vazniak, Andrej Dzmitryeu, as well as against Vital Rymasheuski and Nasta Palazhanka - were re-qualified in accordance with the same article earlier.

Thus, the ex-presidential candidates Mikalaj Statkevich, Dzmitry Us and Andrej Sannikau, and the son of a famous journalist Aliaksandr Klaskouski-junior are named in the mass disturbances criminal case as accused.
