Martynov: Eastern Partnership should offer equal rights for all

The EU's Eastern Partnership program should be based on a mechanism which is equal to all the participants. This is a principal position of Belarus which is still shared by the European Union, Belarus' foreign minister Sergei Martynov is quoted by the Czech media as sayng.
According to the minister, at a meeting with the EU troika in late January, Belarus confirmed that it was in principle positive to the idea of the Eastern Partnership program, saw a constructive nucleus and a constructive component in it.

Martynov noted that Belarus does not set a goal of becoming  a member of the European Union in the forseeable future, and, therefore, does not pretend for a large-scale economic assistance from the European Union or any other preferences and benefits.

In the framework of the Eastern Partnership program, Belarus plans to cooperate with EU in fighting the illegal migration, drug trafficking, organized crime and to coordinate policies in the energy and customs fields, to facilitate the movement of goods and others, reports the official news agency BELTA
