Mahilou banker who stole $439K detained by Interpol
Interpol agents detain a Belarusian banker who was on the run in Russia for almost four years after stealing money from private bank's clients.
He stole 1 billion 300 million roubles from the bank in 2010. The sum was equivalent to 430 thousand dollars back then.
He was detained in Lipetsk, Russia, at the beginning of February, Mogilevskiye Vedomosti reports.
The man worked in the department serving legal entities at the bank. He transferred a huge sum of money to his plastic card before three-day holidays. Then he started withdrawing the money from cash dispensers all over the city. He exchanged the Belarusian roubles to dollars and fled.
