Lukashenka, Putin and Nazarbayev to meet in Moscow on May 8 (photo)

On Friday, March 20, the capital of Kazakhstan hosted a trilateral meeting of Alyaksandr Lukashenka, Vladimir Putin and Nursultan Nazarbayev. After the meeting, the Belarusian leader told reporters that the leaders of Belarus, Russia and Kazakhstan agreed to meet in Moscow on May 8. According to Lukashenka,in the Russian capital they will continue to discuss the issues that were raised today in Astana. He pointed out that to solve the problem of reduced turnover (last year decline in EAEC was 15-16%), it is necessary to fill the market of the Eurasian Economic Union with the goods of local origin. Lukashenka stressed that the leaders of Belarus, Russia and Kazakhstan met in Astana to specifically solve the existing problems.

Vladimir Putin said that it was time to speak "about the possibility of forming a monetary union in the future". According to him, at today's meeting they focused on Eurasian integration. Putin stressed that for the three countries working together it is "easier to respond to external financial and economic threats, protect our joint market," RIA Novosti reports.

On Friday, in Kazakhstan, the leader of Belarus also said that on the eve of the 70th anniversary of the victory over Nazism leaders of the three countries must demonstrate their unity.
