Lukashenka to pay official visit to Moscow

Лукашэнка сабраўся з афіцыйным візітам у Маскву

On November 16, Aliaksandr Lukashenka met Russian envoy in Minsk Alexander Surikov. The Russian ambassador passed an invitation from the Russian president to pay an official visit to Russia.

Lukashenka accepted the invitation and is set to pay his first foreign visit after re-election to Russia. "It will be right that after the presidential election in Belarus I, as usual, will visit Russia which is not foreign to me regardless of whether some people like it or not. I think it will be the right thing to do and it will be an answer to many questions,"reports the state news agency BELTA quoting the head of state.

Lukashenka stressed that he is "ready for a serious conversation on the issue of Belarus-Russia relations." Apart from a number of bilateral meetings, Lukashenka also plans to have meetings with other presidents in a multilateral format.

The Belarusian leader reckons that certain 'roughnesses' in the bilateral cooperation will have been adjusted by the time of the upcoming meeting with Russian president Vladimir Putin.

The Russian ambassador thanked Lukashenhka for accepting the invitation to pay an official visit to the Russian Federation.
