Local KGB releases Belarusian in Nigeria

Nigerian newspapers inform about some details of releasing the Belarusian Iryna Ekpa-Uma.
A Nigerian newspaper THISDAY notes that the operation was conducted by the National Security Agency like in most abduction cases.

Bandits demanded 1.2 million USD for the Belarusian woman. It is still unknown whether they were given the money or not.

Despite the fact that the head of the National Security Agency refused to comment on the issue, the police commissioner Felix Akbaudu confirmed that the Belarusian had been released. He said that Iryna simply returned from captivity and did not give any details of her release.

“I was not in town, I returned from Abuja (capital of Nigeria) only yesterday and was informed about the release of Ms. Ekpa”, - informed the police commissioner of River Stite.
