Live Earth concerts take place in nine cities of the world
A series of concerts Live Earth aimed at drawing attention to the climatic changes issue are taking place in nine cities of the world.
Concerts started in Sydney and Tokyo. Apart from them, performances are taking place in London, Johannesburg, Shanghai and Hamburg and will soon start in Washington, New Jersey and Rio-de-Janeiro.
Such stars as Madonna, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Metallica and The Police will perform at the concerts.
According to the organizers, 2 billion people will be able to see or to hear the concerts broadcasted on TV, radio and Internet.
Participants of the concerts think that they will be able to mobilize the society and influence the political process.
