List of Belarus' candidates for Eurovision kept in secret
The Eurofest, Belarus's national qualification song contest, launched the invite of applications on October 15. The European Radio for Belarus has tried to find out what artistes have already applied for Eurofest.
However, Aliaksandr Tsikhanovich, a member of Eurofest's organizing committee, made it clear that the list of shortlisted participants would be announced only after November 20, the deadline for applications. The names of the candidates are being kept in secret, with even the organizers having no idea of who has applied.
Aliaksandr Tsikhanovich: “We don't even know them ourselves. We will not open the package till November 20. We want this procedure to be democratic and fair. We want to collect a sufficient number of applications, yet avoiding any biased judgments before the qualification round”.
