Lazavik: Runoff voting is unlikely
The voting was over at some polling stations (mostly situated in military units and hospitals) by the afternoon of October 11.The voting results cannot be made public until the end of the Election Day, Mikalai Lazavik said. However, he partly revealed the secret at the press conference that started at 6.10 p.m.
“Judging by my own experience, I can tell you that the general election results do not usually differ from the results of voting in hospitals. They may vary by 1 or 2%... The runoff voting is hardly probable. CEC members can go on vacations in two weeks with no worry,” Mikalai Lazavik announced.
The exact voting results from closed polling stations and exit-polls will be announced at about 8.30 p.m. The final election results will be announced at 10 a.m. on October 12.
