Lawmakers discuss Abkhazia recognition

The issue of recognising the independence of South Ossetia and Abkhazia are not yet on the agenda of the spring session of the lower house of the Belarusian parliament. However, it is being studied at the Foreign Affairs Commission, Speaker Uladzimir Andreichanka said on Thursday.
The legislators are studying the economic and political affects of the recognition of Georgia's breakaway republics.

Siarhei Maskevich, the chairman of the Foreign Affairs Commission, noted earlier that "the decision would be taken by the president anyway, while the parliament just reflects the views of the lawmakers", reports Interfax.
