Kozulin: I'm looking for a job but not set to leave country

Ex-presidential candidate Alexander Kozulin refutes rumors that he might leave Belarus in search for a job in a conversation with the European Radio for Belarus. He has also expressed regret that some journalists interpret his words wrongly for the sake of a scoop. Alexander Kozulin: “When journalists fancy something up themselves and give their own interpretation, this is not very good. I actually regret very much if they try to look for a sensation or if they have some other goals. If I wanted to leave the country, I would have done so when I was proposed to go to Germany. I was offered anything there. Neither me nor my daughter will have a job here. I told this to them very calmy. But everyone must work. If someone makes their own conclusions, they should be responsible! Yes, I am looking for a kind of job so that I could apply my profession. But it does not mean that I am set to leave the country”.

The politician does not rule out that he could accept an offer to lecture somewhere abroad. But even in that case, it does not mean migration.

Alexander Kozulin: “When I am to discuss such a job proposal, I will naturally set a condition to enable me to be in my country and to go abroad for a certain period of time to work. My professional activity allows me to do so. I plan to live and work in my own country”.

Kozulin has refused to discuss his possible participation in the 2011 presidential elections. He only said that apart from this topic, many other important and interesting events should be expected in Belarus next year. He also advised to disregard the statements of some officials that he could participate in the presidential polls because of his conviction. He said nobody had believed that he would be freed earlier, but that exactly what happened.
