KGB: Opposition's plans to purchase metal sticks disrupted

Some opposition representatives tried to buy hazardous objects, KGB chairman Vadzim Zaitsau on Friday told reporters in Minsk. Zaitsau named electrical shockers, firecrackers, tear gas bottles. He said vigilant citizens helped prevent an attempt to buy 3000 metal sticks. The KGB boss stressed that Belarusian law-enforcement agencies possess information about similar attempts of some politicians, reports BELTA.

Zaitsau dismissed opposition's claims that the government is preparing provocations. He stressed the government has a clear plan of action to maintain law and order during the election in Minsk and across Belarus.
