Kastusyou Street appears in Minsk (photo)

The potential presidential contender installed his white-red-white pickets along Independence Avenue. The line was about 150 metres – from Victory Square to Kazlou Street. Here is an ERB’s photo report about it.

The “Super Picket” action was organized by adherents of the deputy head of the BNF Party Ryhor Kastusyou on October 15. The potential presidential contender was being late on his way from Hrodna so they had to start in his absence.

Passers-by were a bit shocked at the white-red-flags that had appeared in Independence Avenue in broad daylight. “I hoped there would be more flags, - said a young man who had given his signature in support of Kastusyou at one of the spots of the Super Picket. – Well, there will be more of them in December!”

More than 20 Ryhor Kastusyou’s pickets were functioning in a short segment of Independence Avenue! The action was fruitful: the best activists of the initative groups managed to collect from 15 to 20 signatures!

There were really not that many flags. There were not enough of them for all the flagpoles prepared by participants of the Super Picket.

"We have used the opportunity of not having to ask for permission to conduct such pickets today, - explained Ryhor Kastysyou who appeared at the action at about 5.30 p.m. – Our “Super Picket” has become a mass picket: it has demonstrated that the democratic forces are alive, that the Belarusian National Front is alive and that the white-red-white flag is alive!”

Indeed, people don’t get an opportunity to walk along Minsk streets with the historical flag without risking to be jailed for a few days that often... Interestingly, strangers hoisted a white-red-white flag on the roof of one of the houses situated in the same place on a May night in 2010. However, you didn’t have to be hiding on October 15.

Бліжэй да заканчэння "Мегапікету" да яго далучыўся патэнцыйны кандыдат ад беларускіх хрысціянскіх дэмакратаў — Віталь Рымашэўскі. На яго думку, акцыя атрымалася.
