Kalyakin: People join communist party on Labor Day

Siarhei Kalyakin, the leader of the Belarusian Party of Communists, has described this year's Labor Day celebrations as successful. "Peopl take an active part in both the sports and political events. Several people today joined the party right here on the square", Kayakin told the European Radio for Belarus.  

During the action, the party leader gave a speech. The copies of the party's newspaper Comrade and other printed materials were handed out.

Kalyakin also said apart from the opposition communists, Social Democrats, people from the organizing committee of the Labor Party and the trade union of the radio-electronic industry took part in the action.

The event was authorized by Minsk City Hall and is taking place on Bangalore Square in Minsk.
