Kabyakou yawns, President picks his nails, and Minister of Architecture takes notes…

The European Radio for Belarus has managed to peep at what high rank officials were taking notes of during the harvesting campaign meeting and whether they could make use of their notes in their future work. We couldn’t see the notes of Ministers but we “caught” them at the moments they were taking notes (or maybe only pretending to) and then compared it to what the Ministers and the President were speaking about.

00.32 The speaker of the House of Representatives Uladzimir Kanapleu taking notes of the President’s speech: “There is no bread in Europe, Russia and Ukraine. And there will not have any.”

It is necessary to make a list of deputies and the State Council to help them get bread…

The Minister of Culture Uladzimir Matveuchuk was taking notes of the President’s speech for 5 minutes 6 seconds: “A harvesting campaign is always a serious test for grain-growers…”

8.18 Minister of Architecture and Construction Alyaksandr Selyaznyou (on the right) anxiously taking notes of the President’s words about the fact that “the rate of getting harvest has dropped from 6 to 2% during the past two days”.

How will it influence the housing market?

39.34-40 The President is speaking about corn that “has not let us down this year” and … picking his nails.

43.28 Prime Minister Sidorski writing down the Presidents remarks - “you should direct brewers not to go to Europe for barley… The possibility to take money abroad instead of buying barley at home should disappear this year”.

50.26 “Corn is a good kind of food for cattle,” – the President of the Academy of Sciences Mihail Myasnikovich notes down the words of the head of Hrodna Region. He even underlined the sentence.
Will there be an Institute of Corn created in the Academy of Sciences?

51.37. The Prime Minister writes down the President’s idea to use wood instead of gas for all grain dryers. “We have problems paying Russia for gas. The government conducts those negotiations stumbling”.
How is “stumbling” spelt?

55.12. It is very interesting for the deputy head of the President’s Administration Natallya Pyatkevich and the director of BT Alyaksandr Zimouski to hear that “Belarusian combines are highly competitive with foreign ones”.

57.47. The head of the Security Council Victar Sheiman and the head of the President’s Administration Henadz Nyavyhlas were sitting next to each other copying one another’s poses all the time.

1 hour 1 minute. The Minister of Architecture Alyaksandr Selyaznyou (on the right) taking notes of the President’s speech again: “we should get more grain crop from peasants. It is better than getting money from Prakapovoich’s accounts. Bread will cost more than dollars and euro”.
Well, flats are more expensive anyway. Or …?

1.06. Vіktar Sheiman and Henadz Nyavyhlas take off their glasses synchronously.

1.06. They are demonstrating the same attitude in principle as the head of the State Control Committee Zyanon Lomats does.

1.26. Officials are counting the profitability of growing Belarusian oranges with very serious facial expressions.” Who said it was not profitable to grow oranges and lemons in Belarus?” – says the President.
Messrs Ministers, where are your smiles?

1.36. Vice Prime Minister Ivan Bambiza interrupts him to give a maths class.
-- We harvested 39% of territories and threshed 2.8 million tons of grain, - starts the vice Prime Minister…
-- So if we look at the percentage it will mean, - interrupts him the President…
– That we are approaching 7 million tons, - interrupts the vice Prime Minister.
– We are reaching 9 million tons – Lukashenka is not listening to him.
-- Alyaksandr Hrygorevіch. There is a certain pattern, - explains Bambiza patiently. – If you divide 2.8 million tons by 39% you will get 7.064.
Another vice Prime Minister Kabyakou (at the bottom) uses his pocket calculator and confirms the results - 7 million tons.
But the President does not trust vice Prime Ministers’ calculators. “… There are 8 million tons in the fields, do you mean you will lose one million?” ...
-- We will gather at least 7 million tons, - insists Ivan Bambiza.
-- All right, we will see, - suddenly agrees the President.

1.37. The Minister of Architecture Alyaksandr Selyaznyou is here again. Now he is taking notes of the report of the vice Prime Minister concerning “the small crop of winter rape”. 12 minutes later he is eagerly writing down the President’s words about “the necessity to make combines work even at night”.

Wait, is it the person who may become the next Prime Minister?

2 hours 9 minutes. Vice Prime Minister Andrei Kabyakou stifles a yawn. He does it at the moment when the President is speaking about the results of the meeting…
