Internet shops ordered to detail every item on sale

The web-based e-shops in Belarus will soon be ordered to post more information about their goods. Under the new version of the draft legislation on the protection of consumers' rights passed by lawmakers in the first reading, the web sites of e-shops must provide information about every item of goods, including the information about the manufacturer, performance details, warranty, price and delivery terms.

Belarus Trade Minister Aliaksandr Ivankou believes that this provision is very important as more goods are sold through e-shops in this country.

In order to ensure equal conditions for both the domestic and foreign-made goods, it is proposed to expand the application of the national standards to all the goods sold on the territory of Belarus regardless of the place of origin, reports AFN.
