International Monetary Fund to send mission to Minsk

A mission of the International Monetary Fund will start discussing the issue of allocation of a credit to Belarus with Brussels administration within the next five days. It is said in the statement of the Fund’s head Dominique Strauss-Kahn. The sum of the stand-by credit is still to be decided, he said. “The world crisis has influenced the Belarusian economy and the country’s access to foreign financing in a negative way”. At the same time, the foreign trade market environment change has influenced the country’s balance of payment negatively”, - is said in the statement.

Let us remind you that the government and the National Bank of Belarus asked the International Monetary Fund for a reserve credit of 2 billion dollars.
