Imported beer returns to Minsk shops
No official permission to sell imported beer has been given as there was no official ban either.
Imported beer started disappearing from Minsk shops on May 7. Only Belarusian beer was sold during the hockey championship in Minsk. Shops referred to the Chief Consumer Market Department and its officials seemed surprised at journalists’ questions. That is why the initiator of the step was no found.
Foreign beer returned to Minsk shops on Monday, the day after the championship. Imported beer was kept in shops’ storehouses all the time, representatives of companies importing beer told onliner.by. However, employees of such companies had to go on vacations at their own expense: no beer – no work.
