Illegal migrants tend to avoid Belarus
Illegal migrants that try to enter the European Union do not take risks of travelling through our country, Belarus's Border Control Committee said in a statement. Only 100 illegal migrants were detained at the Belarusian border this year, reports ONT. About the same number of foreigners who planned to enter the European Union illegally were arrested inside the country. In late 1990s, the number of illegal migrants caught by the Belarusian border guards amounted to several thousand people.
The list of illegal migrants includes mostly people from Africa and Asia, Middle Asia, Afghanistan, China and Vietnam. Security agencies note that these people have started carrying high-quality fake documents lately.
