Hanna Sardechkina's murderer imprisoned for 15 years

The prosecutor asked to return Kanstantsin Kazlou guilty of the murder and imprison him for 15 years. The lawyer asked to imprison his client for 6 years.

Kazlou will serve his sentence in a top security prison.

Head of an amateur archer club Hanna Sardechkina disappeared on August 12 last year. Her husband reported her missing and became the suspect later. He pled guilty and showed where he had hidden the remains of the body.

The woman was strangled and then her body was cut into pieces. Some of the remains were found in a plastic bag at the bottom of Tsnyanksaye storage pond and the rest was buried.

The accused, Sardechkina’s ex-husband Kanstantsin Kazlou pled guilty. He was quarrelling a lot with his wife after the divorce which created obstacles for his “normal relations with their small son”, he explained.

The hearing started in Minsk Zavodski District Court on February 3. Hanna Sardechkina’s 4-year-old son was interrogated behind closed doors, without Kazlou and the press. According to the judge, the boy saw the moment of the murder.

Kanstantsin Kazlou has a higher education and worked as a lead part-programming engineer in Minsk before the detention. He has been jailed since August 20, 2013.
