German language and culture week opens in Brest

The regional library in Brest has announced a "weekend surprise", with Belarusian poets to perform readings of their poems in Belarusian and in German translations. Brest-based Siarhei Prylutski, Vera Burlak and Viktar Zhybul from Minsk will attend.
Karin Kraus from German Foreign School Education Service, one of the week's organizers, promised::

"Visitors should expect interesting meetings. The German Week will be attended by Tobias Knuben, Director of the German Lingustics in Minsk, Folker Jansen from the Brest's Friends Society in Rowensbruck -- Brest partner-city, Heike Zabel from Saksonia Zeitung and Tomas Haun, an architect from Berlin". 



The German Week is organized by the Goethe Institute in Minsk and the Brest Regional Library. The exposition of German books opened on Monday. They can be borrowed for temporary use. 



The week will end on October 21 with a concert when prizes will be awarded to winners of various contests.
