G7 leaders to meet in Hague today, Putin not invited

The G7 consists of Great Britain, Germany, France, Italy, the USA, Canada and Japan. Russia joined them in 1998 and the group became the Group of Eight. However, Russia’s membership in this ‘big states’ club’ is questionable after the annexation of Crimea. This issue will be discussed today.

The leaders if the Group of Seven and President of the European Council Herman Van Rompuy will discuss the situation in Ukraine and Crimea on Monday. It will be done during the international Nuclear Security Summit in the Hague. The meeting will start at 8.30 p.m. FET.
