France unlikely to bid for Belarus nuclear power plant deal
The conditions of the tender to construct a nuclear power plant announced by Belarus do not meet the possibilities of France, French Ambassador in Minsk Mireille Musso told the Interfax news agency. Mireille Musso noted that the embassy did not interfere with the commercial talks. But she said that the type of the reactor expected to be built in Belarus is different from the one that the French company Avera constructs.
Belarus's energy ministry sent tender invitations to the three world's major companies: Areva (France, Germany), Westinghouse-Toshiba (US, Japan) and the Russian company Rosatom.
