Foreign special services’ attention to Belarus will increase – head of KGB press service

Foreign special services will be paying more attention to Belarus next year. The forecast was made by the head of the KGB press service Valery Nadtachaeu in his interview with “Interfax”. According to him, it is connected with the coming parliamentary elections. “Activities of foreign special services and nongovernmental organizations (some of them are financed by special services) increases during important political and civil campaigns in the republic.

It can be explained by the desire of foreign opponents of the Belarusian authorities to influence the situation in the republic”, - claimed Nadtachaeu.

The head of the KGB press service is sure that there are no prerequisites for political extremism and realization of “a colour revolution” in Belarus.

Nadtachaeu also refutes the existence of political prisoners in our country.

He thinks that “talks about political prisoners in Belarus are part of the information campaign started against our country to discredit our foreign and internal policy and create the image of “tyranny” in the eyes of the European community”.
