First case of swine flu confirmed in Spain

The Spanish Ministry of Healthcare has diagnosed swine flue in an inhabitant of the country on April 27. He has recently returned from Mexico. It is the first case of the decease confirmed in Europe.
The young man having symptoms of flu has been taken to hospital in Almansa (Alicante province). He is in a stable condition and doctors have already started a treatment course recommended by the WHO.

17 possible cases of swine flu in humans have been registered in Spain by this afternoon.

According to the latest information, 103 people have died of swine flu in Mexico, 1.614 are in hospital. 20 people have caught it in the USA and six – in Canada. The World Health Organization thinks that the disease has a pandemic potential.
