Fairytales tell truth about Belarusian tolerance!

Peramoha Cinema in Minsk on June 8 will host a presentation of Aleh Khamenka’s project which has gathered and released ten CDs of Belarusian fairytales without censorship.

The fairytales were read by TV and radio presenter Tamara Lisitskaya and prominent actor Larysa Ryzhkova.

Khamenka, the front-man of the popular Belarusian band, Palace, told the European Radio for Belarus that CDs are soon to hit music stores across the country.

“Finally, both the creative and technical stages of the project are complete. This includes ten components which are soon to appear in shops. Three discs contain fairytales about animals; four CDs include wonder stories; three discs are social; and the last, tenth CD, contains fairytales for adults about our life”, Khamenka says.

The artiste hopes that the presentation will turn into a family gathering where people can listen to Belarusian fairytales and jokes. Moreover, adults are promised to have as much fun as children.

“They are a bit philosophical, so adults will definitely have their mood raised”.

These fairytales are special, because their text is very close to original dialects. The musician stressed that that’s why the fairytales were not read in roles.

“Initially, we wanted to make them sound as closer as possible to the literature language. But this way we would have lost their peculiar beauty. That’s why we kept much of dialects in order to have listeners hear what we heard in our childhood. They are read by one voice. We would like listeners to feel themselves as if in childhood or as if on granddad’s lap”.

The launch will take place on June 8 at Peramoha (Victory) Cinema at 1300. Admission is free. Children and adults are all welcome.
