Ecologist’s death leads to riots in France (video)

The police had to use rubber bullets and tear gas.

About 20 activists have been arrested in Nantes and 13 – in Toulouse. The protest actions were directed against policemen’s cruelty. 21-year-old activist Remi Fres was killed in clashes with the police during a protest against the construction of a dam in south-west France last Sunday. A police shock grenade could kill him.

The demonstrators’ actions disrespect the memory of the killed activist, French PM Manuel Valls claimed. The French Minister of the Interior Bernard Cazeneuve called the actions ‘inadmissible’ and promised to punish the culprits, foreign information agencies report.
