Driving inspectors who organized “live shield” receive suspended sentence

Two driving inspectors from Kastrychnistki District of the Belarusian capital have been put on probation for two years. The sentence is suspended for three years. The driving inspectors tried to stop a drunken driver with the help of “a live shield” created out of cars with people in March. The decision has been taken by Minsk District and Zaslauye Court today.
"Interfax" reminds that Major Darahakupets and senior lieutenant Lihtarovich were accused according to the article “Power abuse” of the Criminal Code.

The prosecutor asked to return the driving inspectors guilty of power abuse that caused a threat to people’s live and health and give each of them 2 years of suspended sentence.  The defence of the victims insisted on the imprisonment of the driving inspectors.
