Director of markets network in Minsk arrested on extortion charges

A director general of the company which ownes a network of market places has been detained on suspicion of taking bribes through extortion, the Minsk Regional Police Department told Interfax.
The director general, a Russian national, extorted money from entrepreneurs who were forced to kick back for the access to trade outlets at market center.

According to police investigators, entrepreneurs would routinely bring Br2-7 million ($1000-3500) in bribes.
