Chernobyl March authorized in Minsk at 1800

Chernobyl March 2017 will be dedicated to the 31th anniversary of the Chernobyl nuclear disaster.

 

Minsk authorities initially authoirized the action for 2 p.m. near the Academy of Sciences although Wednesday is a workday in Belarus. The time was shifted to 6 p.m. after negotiations with the organizers of the rally. People will walk along Surhanau Street towards the Chernobyl Chapel in the Park of Peoples’ Friendship - a remote location away from the city center.   

 

The authorities also allowed another rally in Kiev Public Garden. It will be organized by the Christian Conservative Party BPF. The meeting will begin at 6 p.m. and finish at 8 p.m.
