Champions League: Milan and Barcelona draw (photo, video)
Chelsea and Atletico defeated Schalke 04 and Austria with the same scores (3:0) on October 22. Zenit defeated Porto.
The first eight matches of the group stage of the Champions League 2013-2014 were played on October 22. The main intrigue was the Milan-Barcelona match. Italians were considered to be the favourites, Milan scored a goal during the 9th minute but Messi equalised in the middle of the first period. The final score was 1:1.
Steaua and Basel also tied 1:1.
Chelsea and Atletico celebrated victories in out matches. Both clubs scored three goals and defeated Schalke 04 and Austria – 0:3!
But the other matches drew most attention. Borussia defeated Arsenal, Celtic defeated Ajax. Napoli won the match with Marseille (2:1). However, the German team played in an out match so their victory may be more important.
Finally, Zenit won the out match with Porto – 1:0.
