Central Bank allows insurance companies to accept hard currency

The National Bank of Belarus has given a go-ahead to insurance companies, allowing them to accept hard currency in cash from physical entities during mandatory motor third-party insurance transactions, the bank's press office said in a statement. The cash hard currency cam also be accepted during medical insurance for foreigners and non-citizens.

Previously, underwriters would need to seek a special permit from the National Bank in order to carry out transactions in foreign currencies, reports Interfax.
