CCP-BPF marks 95th anniversary of Slutsk Defence action

The Christian Conservative Party BPF celebrated the 95th anniversary of the Slutsk Defence Action in Slutsk District on November 29.

 

About fifty people took part in the action. They visited the battlefields where the insurgents had fought against Bolshevist forces in 1920, Radio Liberty reports. They commemorated Belarusian heroes in the villages of Hrozava, Vyzna (Chyrvonaya Slabada) and Semezhava.

The final meeting was organized near Slutsk Museum of Local Lore. The Assembly of Slutsk Delegates was held in that building and the uprising headquarters worked there.

The action was allowed by the local authorities and there were no incidents. The police accompanied the bus transporting the action participants but did no interfere.

 

A number of other democratic organizations conducted actions in Slutsk on November 28, Euroradio reported.
