An international action “Campaign 193.1 – for the freedom of associations in Belarus” has been announced by a Swedish democratic organization “Swedish Initiative for Democracy and Human Rights” and a human rights defender Ales Byalyatski. The goal of the campaign is to draw the attention of Swedish politicians and the society to inadmissible restrictions of the freedom of associations in Belarus. The initiators of the campaign are urging the Belarusian authorities to guarantee the freedom of associations in Belarus. They demand that the article of the Criminal Code concerning actions on behalf of unregistered organizations should be cancelled. A fund-raising campaign to support liquidated organizations working for the good of democracy and human rights will be organized.
