BPF Party leader fined, released by Minsk court

The Partyzanski District Court in Minsk on 5 July fined Belarusian Popular Front (BPF) Party leader Ryhor Kastusyou for the participation in the protests near the Poyedem, Poyedim entertainment center located next to the Kurapaty memorial, the site of mass executions by Stalin's police forces in the 1930s, deputy party leader Alyaksei Yanukevich told Euroradio. The defence of Kurapaty cost the politician about 700 BYN or $350, he noted.

Ryhor Kastusyou was detained on the way to the Minsk airport on the morning of 3 July. He was going to take a flight to Warsaw to take part in the meeting on Belarus at the Polish Parliament's Foreign Affairs Committee.
