Belenerga discovers cause of blackouts in Minsk center

The power cut in the center of Minsk, which took place last afternoon, was the result of damage to the cable line during excavation works, BelTA reports with reference to the management of information technology department of Belenerga.

The broken cable was found during examination of the 35 kW line that feeds the Central power station. The damage occurred during excavations carried out by construction and installation company.

There was no power in the streets of Niamiha, Internatsyianalnaya, Kamunistychnaya, Kirava, Lenina, Karla Marksa and others. The traffic lights here were out, and there were numerous traffic jams.

At 16:03 the backup power was turned on.
