Belarusian Disciplinary Battalion not to be liquidated
Nobody is going to liquidate the Belarusian Disciplinary Battalion now. The deputy head of the General Staff of the Belarusian Army lieutenant-general Syarhei Hurulyou has informed about it. According to him, form 40 to 80 soldiers serve their sentence in this battalion dislocated in Minsk every year. There used to be 500 soldiers per year in the 1990s. This disciplinary battalion is the only one still remaining in Belarus.
The garrison guardhouse where more than 960 soldiers served their sentence during the first six months of 2007 is also the only one in Belarus. Minsk commandant colonel Anatol Hrytsau has informed about it.
