Belarusian declarations appear at border check-points

However, Homel Court refuses to close the case of Syamyonau who refused to fill in the form in Russian. The young man is not going to appear in court on October 4 and will not pay the fine. A second trial of Syarhei Syamyonau will take place in Homel on October 4. The young man asked for a Belarusian form or an interpreter while crossing the Belarusian-Ukrainian border. He reused to fill in the form in Russian. Homel City Court fined Syamyonay for 30 base amounts at the end of August for the refusal. He is not going to pay the fine. The Homel inhabitant working in Chernigov immediately set off for Ukraine after that. Everything repeated. So another trial was to take place on September 24 but it was suddenly put off for October 4. Syamyonau decided to skip the trial.

“The trial will take place but I will not attend it. I have some health problems and I’m trying to recover now. I sent an appeal asking to put it off on Monday but I got no response”.

By the way, after the second protocol for demanding a form in Belarusian was drawn up the head of the Constitutional Court of Belarus Ryhor Vasilevich made an announcement. According to him, the article for disrespect for the state language was still in power. The head customs official Alyaksandr Shpileuski immediately reacted to it and promised to print Belarusian declarations. ERB has been informed that Belarusian forms are already available at border check-points. The check-point “Warsaw Bridge” has reported it.

“Belarusian declarations are available at all check-points in Belarus. They can be given to anyone who asks for them but I do not know how often it is done. In general, there are enough forms for everyone”.

According to customs officials, forms for the next year have already been ordered.
