The Belarusian government hopes to complete the negotiations on accession to the World Trade Organization by next summer. According to First Deputy Prime Minister Alyaksandr Turchyn, in June 2020, our country could have already formalized its membership in the WTO at the conference of this organization. He urged the member countries of the World Trade Organization to support Belarus in this effort. Mr Turchyn notes that Minsk is ready to search for compromises that do not contradict the national interests.

Another round of talks on Belarus' accession to the WTO was held on July 11 in Geneva. The Belarusian delegation was headed by Alyaksandr Turchyn. Among others, it was headed by Finance Minister Maksim Yermalovich, Economy Minister Dzmitry Krutoy and Deputy Foreign Minister Andrei Yeudachenka.
