Belarus racer to lead South African team at Tour de France
Belarusian bicycle racer Konstantin Sivtsov, 25 has been invited to lead a South African team at the Tour de France'2007, his coach Leanid Lubeznikau told Belapan. The race will take off on July 6 in England, according to Lubeznikov. The Belarusian athlete in presently in Italy where the South African team is based.
"Tour de France is a very difficult race, with some of the uphills reaching 10-15 km. I think that Sivtsov joined the South African team because he was offered leadership not the second role," Lubeznikov stressed.
Sivtsov won the 2004 World Championship Under 23.
