Belarus promises to pay for gas within two weeks

The senior vice Prime Minister of Belarus Uladzimir Syamashka has claimed it at a meeting with a narrow circle of journalists in Minsk today, on June 21. According to the official, the official Minsk is ready to borrow money to pay for gas. “We do not hide the fact that we have problems with foreign currency needed to pay for gas in the real-time mode. We have to borrow it”, reports RIA “Novosti” quoting Syamahska.

In its turn, Belarus has a counter demand – Russia should pay the gas transit debt of $217 million.

Meanwhile, “Gazprom” has claimed that the price of gas will increase for Belarus in the third quarter of the year. According to employees of the Russian concern, it will total 193 or 184 dollars for one thousand cubic meters. Let us remind you that the price was 185 dollars in the second quarter.
