Belarus parliament to consider recognition of South Ossetia, Abkhazia on April 2

The Belarusian parliament will consider the recognition of South Ossetia and Abkhazia on April 2, Valery Ivanou, a deputy chairman of the House of Representatives, said in a statement.
Ria Novosti reminds that only Russia and Nicaragua have so far recognized the self-declared republics as independent states. Alexander Lukashenka said earlier that he was ready to sign a relevant document if the parliament approved the recognition requests.

According to Valery Ivanou, the issue will now be considered by lawmakers.
