Belarus foreign currency earnings fall by $5 billion
The results cover the first six months of 2015.
In the first six months of 2015, Belarus' foreign exchange earnings amounted to $16.7 billion. Compared with the same period last year, it decreased by 4.9 billion dollars. At the same time, as reported by BelaPAN, the balance of foreign payments in Belarus was positive due to a significant decrease in imports.
Incidentally, in June, foreign exchange earnings from the export of Belarusian goods and services, income and transfers totaled 3.1 billion dollars. This is 19.8% less than in June 2014.
A significant reduction of foreign exchange earnings of Belarus is explained primarily the decline in exports.
Along with the reduction in export earnings, reduction in foreign payments became even more significant. Thus, foreign payments of Belarus decreased within a year by 26.3%. In the first half of 2014 they amounted to 20.3 billion dollars, in the first half of 2015 - 15 billion dollars.
