Belarus bids for children's Eurovision contest

Belarus has filed a bid application for organizing Eurovision'2009, the international children's song contest. Yury Azaronak, the deputy chairman of the Belarusian TV and Radio Company, said "this country pays a lot of attention to the organization of festivals and shows. The Dazhynki festival and the Slavic Bazaar festival prove that well".

"If the European Broadcasting Union gives us a go-ahead, we will organize the international contest at the highest level," Azaronak stated.

The international children's song contest Eurovision'2007 will take place in the Netherlands. Different from the adult Eurovision contest, the host country is not determined by the contest winner.

The location of the children's Eurovision is defined by the organizers, the European Broadcasting Union.
