Belarus to appear on new Europe's coins

Belarus will appear on the new Euro coins, but Turkey will be removed from the European money. This has caused protests from some members of the European Parliament. The European Commission proposed to put also EU's neighbors, including Belarus on the European coins.

“Obviously, the Council of EU member states has no doubts that Europe's new map should include Belarus and the authoritarian country like Russia together with Ukraine and Moldova…

However, it rejects the democratic Turkey which is in membership talks with the EU," a statement from some European Parliament members said.

The spokesman of the European Commission has confirmed that the original design of the coin that initially included Turkey was changed by the council. France objects to Turkey entering the European Union, writes Charter'97.
