Autukhovich on hunger strike for a week already

Mikalay Autukhovich, a businessman arrested on what some groups call politically motivated charges, has been on a hunger strike for week, demanding a speedy investigation or release before trial.   Autukhovich, Yury Lyavonau and Uladzimir Asipenka were apprehended in armed raids in their hometown of Vawkavysk, Hrodna region, on the morning of February 8 and brought to a detention center in Minsk. Police said that they were suspected of perpetrating a series of arsons and explosions targeting the property of local officials and of illegal possession of explosives and firearms.

Lawyer Pavel Sapelka told Khartiya-97 that he had not received any updates from the jail on Autukhovich's health.
