Arrested investigator Sviatlana Baykova suffering from kidney problems

Sviatlana Baykova, an investigator from the Office of Prosecutor General who has been detained in custody of KGB for almost six months, needs to be admitted to a hospital for at least one month. An acute kidney problem was detected while in jail, reports Radio Svaboda. Baykova's lawyer Mikhail Vouchak sent a petition to KGB Chairman and Prosecutor General, asking to change the status of detention. If treatment is delayed, her kidneys could stop functionning properly. Nevertheless, necessary medical help was not provided to Baykova.

Sviatlana Baykova has been under investigation. She is suspected of office abuse -- unjustified detentions and illegal arrests.
