Andrei Kim is sentenced to 1.5 years in a colony, the others – to penal labour and fines

The court decision has been announced to 10 youth activists who participated in protest actions in January. Central District Court of Minsk has sentenced Andrei Kim to 1.5 years of imprisonment in a colony and the others have been sentenced to penal labour and fines. The decision was announced by the judge, Alena Illina. After the decision had been announced, somebody shouted out “Rotter!”.
Mihail Pashkevich, Alyaksei Bondar, Artsem Dubskі, Ales Straltsou, Andrei Charnyshou, Mіhaіl Kryvaг and Tatstsyana Tsіshkevіch have been sentenced to 2 years of penal labour without having to go to a penal labour camp.

Antonu Koipіsh and Uladzіmіr Syarheevu have been fined for 3.5 million roubles.

The decision was followed by shouts “Infamy”. After the sentence to Andrei Kim had been announced, his mother - Tatsyana Kіm – shouted out: "Andrei, I am proud of you!”, - reports “Nasha Niva”.

According to Radio Liberty, special police officers have detained Syarhei Atroshchanka for “having insulted the judge”.

People standing near the building are expressing their solidarity with the convict and they are shouting “Live Belarus!”.
