Alexander Nevski Cathedral in Minsk to celebrate 110th anniversary

Alexander Nevski Cathedral at the Military Cemetery in Minsk will celebrate 110th anniversary on September 12.
On this occasion, the Belarusian Orthodox Christian Church has released a film which narrates about the history of one of the oldest churches in Minsk.

The Alexander Nevski Cathedral was built in 1898 as a memorial to the soldiers who were killed during the Russia-Turkey war in 1877-1878. Infantry regiments from Minsk and Mahilyou took part in that war which helped free Bulgarians from the Turkish rule. 118 names of soldiers were engraved with gold on the memorial boards inside the cathedral.
